Rick Eckert Runner-Up at 311 Motor Speedway; Sits Second in WOOLMS Points

(YORK, PENNSYLVANIA) Rick Eckert and his #24 team were back on the World of Outlaws Late Model Series trail over the May 4-5 weekend in a pair of $10,000 to win tilts at the 311 Motor Speedway in Madison, North Carolina and the Swainsboro Raceway in Swainsboro, Georgia. On Friday night at 311, Rick laid down the fifth quickest lap during qualifying and later ran second in heat race action. After drawing the outside of the front row prior to the 50-lapper, "Scrub" ran a great race and wound up second in the finishing order behind only winner Tim McCreadie.

At Swainsboro on Saturday evening, Rick qualified seventh fastest during the time trial session and once again placed second in his heat race. The York, Pennsylvania standout then started fourth on the grid in the 'Pine Tree 50' and was running fifth on lap 40, but mechanical woes sent Rick pitside ten circuits shy of the finish and relegated him to a disappointing nineteenth place performance. Rick still sits second in the current WOOLMS point standings following the double-dip. Full results can be viewed online at www.worldofoutlaws.com.

The Rick Eckert Racing team will now set their sights on the Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Virginia this Saturday, May 12 for a Raye Vest Qualifier. The unsanctioned, one-day show will be headlined by a $2,400 to win, 35-lap feature event. Additional information on this race, which will serve as a qualifier for the October 19-20 ‘Raye Vest Memorial,’ can be accessed by clicking on www.winchestervaspeedway.com.
