Brian Birkhofer Readies for LaSalle on Heels of Lucas Oil Series Doubleheader

(MUSCATINE, IOWA) Brian Birkhofer and his #15b team returned to racing action on May 4-5 in a pair of $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series battles in the states of Illinois and Kentucky. On Friday night at the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois, Brian ran seventh in his stacked heat race, but later grabbed the third and final transfer spot in his B-Main. After rolling off twenty-first on the grid in the 50-lap feature event, Brian was unfortunately one of the first retirees from the race and was relegated to a twenty-fifth place outing.

The dirt-slinging competition quickly shifted to the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky on Saturday evening for another $10,000 to win tilt. Brian finished fifth in heat race action, but later won the B-Main to gain access into the 50-lapper. The Muscatine, Iowa ace then started from the outside of the ninth row in the A-Main and blasted past eight competitors to finish in the tenth position. Another Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event will greet the Birkhofer Racing team on Saturday night, May 12 in the Land of Lincoln. The LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois will play host to a one-day program on Saturday and another $10,000 top prize will be on the line. Brian finished second in a $5,000 to win UMP show earlier this season at the 1/4-mile bullring and will look to be a serious factor when he returns this weekend.
