Wendell Wallace Earns Top Five with Lucas Oil Gang; Eyes Trip to Springfield

(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) The Wendell Wallace Autosports team trekked to the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois and the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky on May 4-5 for a pair of $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tilts. On Friday night at Granite City, Wendell Wallace ran third in his heat race, which locked him into the outside of the sixth row in the 50-lap feature event. The Batesville, Arkansas native was then hooked in the A-Main, as he drove past seven competitors en route to a strong fifth place showing behind only winner Don O'Neal, Tyler Red(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word), Scott Bloomquist, and Jimmy Owens.

At Paducah on Saturday evening, Wendell competed in another $10,000 to win showdown. Unfortunately, his night did not go as smoothly, as he posted an eleventh place finish in his heat race and a tenth place effort in his B-Main. The popular driver known as the "Batesville Bullet" would be forced to watch the 50-lapper, which was won by fellow Batesville driver Billy Moyer. Full results from the LOLMDS double-dip can be viewed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

Next up for the #6m team will be a trip to the Springfield Raceway in Springfield, Missouri this Saturday night, May 12. The Lucas Oil MLRA Series and the MARS DIRTcar Series will co-sanction a $3,000 to win program in two days time at Springfield.
