WHEELERSBURG, OH-Memorial Day weekend is one of the biggest weekends of the entire year in the motorsports world. The huge weekend of racing all gets underway on Friday, May 25th with the “Memorial Day Championships” at SOS. On the card will be Late Models-$2,000 to win, Jordan Heating & Cooling UMP Modifieds-$600 to win, GCP Engines Sport Mods, Street Stocks-$400 to win, and Classic Cars.

Late Model Preview
The quality of racing in the Late Model division this season has been incredible. Race fans have been treated each and every week with exciting racing action. Last Friday, Grayson, Kentucky’s Jackie Boggs returned to SOS victory lane as he led all 25 laps to take the feature win. Josh McGuire continued his strong season at SOS as he finished second. McGuire has one win and two second place finishes this season. R. J. Conley finished third for the second straight week while Greggie Oliver and Zack Dohm both had impressive top five finishes. Despite missing last week’s race, Eddie Carrier Jr. is still the Late Model points leader heading into Friday.

It should be another great show in the Late Model division on Friday with a $2,000 top prize on the line as well as the next to last chance to get cars on the track before the Pepsi Southern 100 on June 15th.

Jordan Heating & Cooling UMP Modified Preview
Just like last season, the competition in the Jordan Heating & Cooling UMP Modified division has been incredible. There have been four different feature winners in five races with Lucasville, Ohio’s Jeremy Rayburn leading the charge. Over the past two weeks Peebles, Ohio driver Dave Jamison has been making headlines as he finished second in his first trip to SOS this season back on May 11th, then came out and took an $800 feature win on NASCAR Night last week. It should be another great show on Friday as we see if we will have a repeat winner or make it five different winners in six races.

GCP Engines Sport Mod Preview
The GCP Engines Sport Mod division saw a new feature winner last week as veteran racer Mark Hall took the feature winner. Points leader Eric Dennison was strong once again as he finished second with second place points runner Wes Harmon finishing third. Last Friday saw the highest car count of the season for the class at 10 as the car count is expected to grow even more this week.

Street Stock Preview
Some of the best racing of the season thus far has came in the Street Stock division. Conard Newman took the feature win on April 20th while Tim Cutler took the win on May 11th. Both features saw close battles for the lead that came down to the last lap. Just like the GCP Engines Sport Mod division, the car count in the Street Stock class has grown each week and is expected to grow even more on Friday.

Classic Car Preview
After putting on a great show back on May 11th, the Classic Car division has been put on the schedule for an additional six races this season. The class will run once again this Friday as another great show is expected.
