    Ponderosa Speedway Has Full Racing Program on the Docket for Friday June 1

    Junction City, KY- May 27, 2012- Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Larry Yantz and co-promoters Chad and Sarah Yantz are set to present a full program of clay slinging dirt track sports entertainment this Friday June 1 will all divisions in action at the track known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” featuring many of the best throttle-smashers in the area.

    The Friday June 1 racing program will feature the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Late Models racing for $1,200 to win in a 25 lap feature event, along with the Clayton Homes Modifieds racing for $600 to win in a 20 lap feature event. Also in action on the Friday June 1 racing program will be the Ken Towery’s Auto and Tire Care Sportsman racing for $300 to win in a 15 lap feature event, Bob Allen Motor Mall Street Stocks racing for $200 to win ($100 to win with four to seven entries) in a 12 lap main event, and Bob Allen Motor Mall Front Wheel Drives paying $200 to win ($100 to win with four to seven entries) in a 10 lap feature event. The Late Model, Modified, and Sportsman divisions will time trial, while the Street Stock and Front Wheel Drive division will pill draw for heat race starting spots. All drivers will need to visit the registration/payout window to draw for time trial order and/or heat race starting spots. Also, all divisions will participate in qualifying heat race events that will determine the feature event starting line-ups. RACEceivers are mandatory in all divisions. The highest finishing driver in the Late Model division utilizing a Crate engine powered car will receive a $100 bonus, while the second highest finishing driver sporting a Crate engine powered mount will receive a $50 bonus.

    Activities for the Friday June 1 racing event will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m, while the general admission area opens at 5:00 p.m., with the drivers meeting set for 7:00 p.m. Practice laps will begin at 7:15 p.m., followed by time trials at 7:45 p.m., with racing set for the green flag at 8:30 p.m. Ticket prices for the June 1 racing event in the general admission area will be $12 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12, and children ages 5 and under admitted free with a paid adult. A pit pass will be $30.

    Ponderosa Speedway last raced on Friday May 25 and feature event winners included Victor Lee of Danville, KY in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Late Models, Elliott Despain of Campbellsville, KY in Clayton Homes Modifieds, Gerald Haynes, Jr. of Somerset, KY in Ken Towery’s Auto and Tire Care Sportsman, and Rusty Light of Nancy, KY in Bob Allen Motor Mall Front Wheel Drives.

    Current track championship points leaders heading into the June 1 racing include Michael Chilton of Salvisa, KY in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Late Models, Elliott Despain of Campbellsville, KY in Clayton Homes Modifieds, Donnie Sullivan of Stanford, KY in Ken Towery’s Auto and Tire Care Sportsman, and Brandon Lucas of New Haven, KY in Bob Allen Motor Mall Front Wheel Drives.

    Ponderosa Speedway is located at 365 Phillips Lane on the Boyle/Lincoln County border, outside of Junction City, KY, just minutes from Danville, KY.
