Tony Knowles Bags $2k Payday in Rome Season Opener

Tyrone, Georgia (05/30/12) – Tony Knowles enjoyed a successful Memorial Day weekend in his #26 RSD Enterprises/SAE Parts/Rocket/Malcuit Racing Engine Super Late Model as he claimed four top ten finishes and a win to show for his efforts.

Tony opened his busy Memorial Day weekend on Friday night at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tennessee) with a $4,000-to-win, ULTIMATE Late Model Series event. Thirty-one entries were on hand for the event, and in time trials Knowles recorded the ninth fastest time to lock into the ninth starting spot for the 40 lap feature. He would battle in the top ten for the duration of the event before crossing the finish line in the ninth position. Full results are available at www.UltimateSupers.com.

Saturday night found the team in action at the lightning-fast, Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tennessee) in a $4,000-to-win, ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series event as thirty-five cars rolled into town for the program. Via preliminary action Tony earned a starting spot in the main event grid and would go on to record a seventh place finish at the checkered flag. On Sunday evening Tony returned to the familiar confines of Rome Speedway as the legendary, 1/2 mile hosted its season opener with a $2,000 top prize on the line. Twenty-four entries registered for the event, and Knowles would blast to the win, after earning the pole position via time trials, which came over Jake Knowles, Ivedent Lloyd, Luther Jenkins, and Jody Knowles. TKR Motorsports concluded their ultra-busy, four race weekend on Monday night at Tri County Race Track (Brasstown, North Carolina) with the $3,000-to-win, Memorial Day Championships. Eighteen Super Late Models took part in the event, and Tony would record a fifth place finish in the main event behind race winner, Dillon Wood, Ivedent Lloyd, Jamie Oliver, and Tyler Millwood. This Saturday, June 2nd the team will travel to Dixie Speedway (Woodstock, Georgia) for the $3,000-to-win, Bill Ingram Memorial.
