I WOULD NOT go to a GoPro. To me, their image quality is horrible at night and the sound quality is p*** poor. Here's a vid from me using a Flip HD camera:

This is camera I use, the sound and quality is great, plus you can get a roll bar mount.
Here's a video I shot 2 weeks ago in my car, Friendship Speedway(Same track test was done on). http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=...type=2&theater

I've been very happy with my RePlay XD! Very sturdy piece, good picture quality, and the sound is pretty good too.

The video's on my youtube page don't really do it justice with the compression I do to make the video a bit smaller.

You all do know that the Go Pro has different light settings and different box configurations, right?

    Default Contour GPS

Bought mine through Amazon, and bought the mounts through Contour, it was like 30 bucks cheaper to buy the camera from Amazon.

The replay has a plastic lens cover that is replaceable. Just held in place with a ring that screws on and is sealed with an o-ring.
I believe a 5 pack of replacement lens is around $10 or less.

Knock on wood, I haven't broke one yet.

When we started using the flip, we put a piece of Lexan in front of it, but after a few races, we just ran without it. Heres what it looked like:

Kind of cool because it almost has a mirror image if you look closely.

These sandy tracks in FL sandblast the Go Pro lens cover. I will have to keep changing them out to keep night time videos clear.

heres a video from a few weeks ago using my gopro.. great little video cam.. wish the sound was better.. I bought the rollbar mount and when I mounted it I put a plastic shield over the mount because its made of plastic.. We tend to race on alot of rocky tracks up here in the northeast..

Haven't broken a lens cover yet on the gopro case, but they do get chipped from the rocks. This solved the problem.
