    Default spindle question

    are the s-10 pickup spindles & the metric car spindles the same ??????

    IF SO WHAT YEAR S-10 SPINDLES WILL I NEED???

    Yes, S10 and metric share control arms and spindles. However, steering linkage is NOT the same as an S10 is narrower than a metric.

    i just went through this and i hame metric spindles here from a monte carlo/cuttlass etc. and tried putting them on a s10 and they are NOT the same they will bolt on and hook all up but the shaft that the rotor slides on is longer on a s10 and the outer bearing has a larger ID.I didn't try using the metric spindle with a metric rotor to make sure the caliper sits correctyly but it might

    Your other spindles and rototrs must have been older then 82 or what ever year it was that GM changed them.

    Should be 80-87 metric and any year S10.

    The metrics in 78/79 (if memory serves correctly) take a different bearing setup. Had a '79 Regal and learned this the hard way.
