Earl Hill was one of the most memorable grass roots stock car drivers from the 60's, 70's, and 80's. Winning dirt track races all over the mid-Ohio Valley region, his signature red and white polka dotted hat and handle bar mustache were as well known as his smooth clean driving style and his compassionate personality. Tyler County Speedway "The Bullring" hosted the 24th annual Earl Hill Memorial race in Earl's honor. Darren Waldo had a chance to catch up with some of the young guns of late model racing with a connection to Earl, including Earl's grandson Daniel Hill and Derek Doll, grandson of one of Earl's legendary car owners Marshall Doll, as well as a few of Earl's competitors Butch McGill, Chuck Harper, Ed Conley, and Charlie Maloney.
