GASTONIA, NC – Carolina Speedway will celebrate the Fourth of July a little early this year as the National Dirt Racing Association (NDRA) brings its “Road Show presented by Heintz Performance” to town Friday night July 29th, for the third annual Firecracker 40.
Dennis “Rambo” Franklin will lead the contingent into the “Action Track” for a 40 lap affair. The Gaffney, SC veteran will be looking to add the $2,000 winner’s check to his back account but will have plenty of stiff competition. Franklin captured the last “Road Show” event at I-77 Speedway. This vaulted him into the point lead.
Also on the card for the night’s events will be a huge fireworks show to that will conclude the night’s activates. Other racing divisions on hand will be the crowd favorite Stock Car Steel/SRI Open Wheel Modifieds with a $500 to win show. The Domino’s Pizza Street Stocks will also battle for $500 to win. The Q2U BBQ Pit Four Cylinders will race for $300 to win as will the Tilley Harley Davidson Renegades. Also there is a $100 new winner bonus.
