    Ponderosa Speedway Set to Sling the Clay Again on Friday July 20

    Junction City, KY- July 15, 2012- After losing the last two events to weather related cancellations, Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Larry Yantz and co-promoters Chad and Sarah Yantz are set to try to return to action with a full program of racing competition in all divisions on Friday July 20 at the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring”.

    The Friday July 20 event will be a full program of racing action featuring Good Neighbor Pharmacy Late Models racing for $1,200 to win, Clayton Homes Modifieds for $600 to win, Ken Towery’s Auto and Tire Care Sportsman $300, Bob Allen Motor Mall Street Stocks $200 to win (8 car minimum), and Front Wheel Drives $200 to win (four entries or more). The Late Models, Modifieds, and Sportsman will time trial, while Street Stocks and Front Wheel Drives will pill draw for starting positions. All drivers will need to sign in at the registration window up arrival to the track and RACEceivers are mandatory in all divisions. Also the highest finishing Late Model driver in the feature event utilizing a Crate engine will receive a $100 bonus, with the next highest finishing Crate engine car and driver receiving a $50 bonus.

    Activities for the Friday July 20 event will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., with the general admission area open at 5:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will be at 7:00 p.m., with practice laps set to begin at 7:15 p.m. Time trials will begin at 7:45 p.m., with racing set for the green flag at 8:30 p.m. Ticket prices for Friday July 20 in the general admission area will be $12 for adults, children ages 6 to 12 will be $5, and children ages 5 and under are free with a paid adult. A pit pass will be $30.

    Also of note, the John Bradshaw Memorial event that was scheduled for Saturday July 28 will now take place on Friday July 27. The event will pay $2,500 to win for Good Neighbor Pharmacy Late Models, along with all other divisions in competition as well. There will be no racing at the track on Saturday July 28.

    Ponderosa Speedway last raced on Friday June 22 and Saturday June 23. The Friday June 22 feature event winners included Dustin Linville of Lancaster, KY in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Late Models, Tommy Bailey of Corbin, KY in Clayton Homes Modifieds, and Bartley Grant of Berea, KY in Ken Towery’s Auto and Tire Care Sportsman. The Saturday June 23 feature event winners included Dustin Neat of Dunnville, KY in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Late Models, Tommy Bailey of Corbin, KY in Clayton Homes Modifieds, Bartley Grant of Berea, KY in Ken Towery’s Auto and Tire Care Sportsman, and Adam Gregory of Gray, KY in Bob Allen Motor Mall Front Wheel Drives.

    Current track championship points leaders heading into the Friday July 20 racing event include Dustin Neat of Dunnville, KY in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Late Models, Elliott Despain of Campbellsville, KY in Clayton Homes Modifieds, Donnie Sullivan of Stanford, KY in Ken Towery’s Auto and Tire Care Sportsman, and Brandon Holt of New Haven, KY in Bob Allen Motor Mall Front Wheel Drives.
