CRATES: SUMMER SIZZLER 25 – AUG. 4 – JACKSON MOTOR SPEEDWAY – GREAT PAYOUT!

Byram, MS – Jackson Motor Speedway in Byram, MS has become a “hot bed” of sorts over the past couple of years when it comes to Crate Late Model racing. August 4, 2012 the bar will be raised for the Crate Late Model drivers and teams in the area when the Summer Sizzler 25 is held.

The Summer Sizzler 25 sports a unique payout that should draw drivers and teams from all over the South. “The Crate Late Model teams in this area have really supported Jackson Motor Speedway so we got together with several of our sponsors and have put together a race that should draw a great field of ultra-competitive cars,” commented track owner Don Cliburn. “I have been around racing for many years and have never seen a payout like this one; we are really excited about the potential this race has.”

“When Don and I got together on this race it was important to have a great payout but at the same time be Nesmith compliant so the drivers could receive the Weekly Racing Series Regional points,” stated Brian Jones with JMS. “Mike Vaughn with Nesmith approved this event to be a WRS Regional points' event so I would expect to see several of the guys who are running for the Nesmith Regional points to be on hand at Jackson Motor Speedway on August 4th.”

The Summer Sizzler 25 would not have been possible without a great group of sponsors: MobileMotels.net (JD PASS), Scarbrough Homes (Sid Scarbrough), Diversified Pest Management (Brad Banes), Permanent Exterior Solutions (Doug Sanchagrin), Link Construction (Bobby Link) and Touch of Class Body Shop (Charles Berg).

The payout for the Summer Sizzler 25 is as follows: 1. $1000; 2. $999; 3. $998; 4. $997; 5. $996; 6. $450; 7. $350; 8. $325; 9. $300; 10. $275; 11. $250; 12. $225; 13. $200; 14. $175; 15. $150; 16. – 22. $125
Entry fee will be $100 which includes the $10 entry fee that is required by Nesmith. There will also be a $10 transponder rental.

The format for the Summer Sizzler 25 is as follows: Each car will receive 2 laps of qualifying with the best time of the two laps standing. The top 6 will lock into the Summer Sizzler 25. The remainder of the cars will be broken into “B” Mains to determine the remainder of the 22 car starting field. The track does hold the right to start up to two provisional positions.

Also in action on August 4th at Jackson Motor Speedway will be the Extreme Wireless Super Late Models, Super Streets, Pure Streets and Open Wheel Modifieds.

We are still trying to grow this event even bigger. If you or your company would like to sponsor this event please contact Brian Jones at 601-331-6827.
