Rattliff, Barber, Grant, and Foltz Collect Checkered Flags at Ponderosa Speedway

Junction City, KY-July 21, 2012- After a three week layoff, Ponderosa Speedway would finally get to return to action on Friday evening and feature event winners for the evening would include Justin Rattliff of Campbellsville, KY in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Late Models, Bryan Barber of Greensburg, KY in Clayton Homes Modifieds, Bartley Grant of Berea, KY in Ken Towery’s Auto and Tire Care Sportsman, and Rodney Foltz of Florence, KY in Bob Allen Motor Mall Front Wheel Drives.

Jarrod Breeding would take the lead at the start of the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Late Model feature and would lead until lap 6 when Justin Rattliff would take the lead on a restart and would hold the top spot until he jumped the cushion in turn one, handing the lead to Stephen Breeding. Breeding would hold the race lead until lap 21 when he would have problems with his left rear suspension and he and Rattliff would make contact in turn four, with Breeding being finished for the night as a result of the left rear suspension damage. Rattliff would hold off the charges of Greg Johnson in the final four laps to take the victory in the James Rattliff owned MGL Auto Sales/JRR Auto Sales/On Time Courier/On Time Construction/Peterson Fluid Systems/AFCO Race Products sponsored #16 Bloomquist Race Cars, Estes Race Engines powered mount. Johnson would take second, with Michael Chilton scoring a third place finish. Jarrod Breeding and Johnny Wheeler would round out the top five. The remainder of the top ten would be Chad Stapleton, Joey Daniel, Joe Godsey, Clarence Belcher, and Wesley Brummett. Nineteen entries would see Dustin Linville set fast time at 13.689 seconds, while Country 100.9 MIKE FM heat race wins went to Stapleton, Stephen Breeding, and Jarrod Breeding.

Bryan Barber would take the lead at the start of the 20 lap Clayton Homes Modified feature event and hold off the challenges of Michael England to pick up his second win of the year at the track in his Bandit Race Cars/B&B Motorsports/All Star Performance/Maximum Energy Development/Bilstein Shocks/Dyer’s Top Rods/Frankland Racing Equipment/Wiles Driveshafts sponsored #10 Bandit Race Car powered by a Jay (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)ens Race Engine. England would finish second, with Tommy Bailey, Elliott Despain, and Kevin Nesselhauf completing the top five. Rounding out the top ten would be Mikah Reams, Dion Benningfield, Trever Thompson, Keith Denny, and Rocky Wilson. Sixteen entries would see England be top qualifier at 14.697 seconds. Smith Automotive Machine Shop heat race wins would go to Bailey and Barber.

Bartley Grant would lead all 15 laps of the Ken Towery’s Auto and Tire Care Sportsman division feature event and score his third straight win in the class. Grant would pilot the Tori Grant owned Cookie Monster Power Plants/Double J Cylinder Heads/Smokehouse Grill/Climax Horse Camp/B-Cool Window Tinting/The Muffler Shop/Browning Trucking/Linville’s Finish Carpentry/Wilburn Custom Guitars/Copper Creek Welding sponsored #1. Donnie Sullivan, Eli Meredith, Michael Wooldridge, and Johnny King would complete the top five. Eight entries would see Grant be the top qualifier at 15.899 seconds and also win the Central Painting heat.

Rodney Foltz would lead all 10 laps in the Bob Allen Motor Mall Front Wheel Drive feature and score the victory in Foltz Enterprises owned Thomas Automotive/Battery Men/Valvoline sponsored #K80 Chevy Cavalier. Jerry Gibson III would finish second, followed by Brandon Holt and Joseph Lyons. Foltz would also win the Airport Road Salvage Yard heat among four entries.
