"West Virginia Native Goes 2 for 2 at Thunder Mountain in Race 1 of Mountain Madness"

(Hanover,WV) There was a mixture of all different elements throughout the weekend in the State of "Wild & Wonderful" West Virginia as the "Premier Pro Late Model Series in the Country" invavded the 4/10th mile tight paper clipped facility between the towns of Hanover & Justice as the FASTRAK Racing Series returned for race #1 of "Mountain Madness II" as more than $25,000 purse on the line in 2 races it was definately a weekend we won't forget for a long time to come!!

The Special race at Thunder Mountain Speedway was gonna be the 2nd stop this 2012 season for the City Chevrolet Touring Division to invade the place alot of folks call "The Martinsville of Dirt". The plan was to run the 1st event paying $2,000 to win on Friday night July 20th. However although there was a valient made to be sucessful and get the show in however during "VP Race to the Pole Qualifying" and the 8th car of 24 that were signed in Friday took green the on track activity had to be halted immeadiately because of rain for 5 minutes. Ounce the rain stopped FASTRAK and Thunder Mountain STAFF went quickly to work with also the help of the drivers to keep the track sealed and did juat that and quailfying had to be scractched and completely redone. During the 2nd attempt to conclude "VP Race for the Pole Qualifying" fot the $2k affair and with the 17th & 18th cars in line out of the 24 that signed in the "heavens" really opened up with a very severe thunderstorm and the track was lost and events were POSTONED. The Biggest highlight was the surprising run by #14 Brandon Riffe who took the #1 spot not ounce but twice during qualifying and was really looking to be a significant threat for the win.

29 FASTRAK Pro Late Models made the call for the $3,000 to win race that was part of the $25,000 Mountain Madness II weekend and the track was blessed with abundant sunshine and temps in the upper 80s in the day and lower 70s at night. Most importantly there was no more threats for weather which came the decision to run Fridays event as per dicussed earlier in the week to Sunday afternoon. After Hot Laps it was a surprising thing to see the #00 of Jeremy Livingood be the overall fastest car. VP Race for the Pole Qualifying was next on track and when it was said and doen it was #33 for Crab Orchard,WV Chris Meadows to jump out with P1 attaining a speed of 18.323 secs around the 4/10th mile. After two B-Main races were concluded won by #14 Brandon Riffe in RockAuto.com Heat 1 and #22 Jordan Dill in Hoosier Tire Heat 2 it was and also the addition of a new starter to the event by track provisional #98 Caleb Lester it was race time "Where the Mountain Roars"!!

The Race saw #33 Chris Meadows jump out at the drop of the Green but however as fast as he would break away from the field the Yellow lights would be in his front windshield and slow things down. The race had to be restarted twice due to yellows both involving issues with a 4 car pile up on front stretch #98 Caleb Lester #25 Ted Johnson, #8 Heath Ellis, #44w Brandon Umberger, Also #8 Heath's Ellis stalled on the backstretch during the 2nd attempt to get the race officially going. During the 2nd official go they were able to complete 2 laps and again #8 Ellis looped around in turn #2 on the restart off turn 3 when #9 Ryan Atkins, #11 David Smith, #8 Heath Ellis and #25 Chad Justice put it back caution yet again which turned out to be a caution filled event with 9 caution flags waving in the first 7 laps. Basically everytime the Green came out #33 of Meadows would check out and not have any bottom contend with him. However on the 7th lap #25 Concord,NC's Matt Long was able to get to his left quarter panel and keep momentum going to the driver door after he took the choose rule to get up to him however during that exchange another multi-car pile up happened in Turn #4 which involved drivers #14 Brandon Riffe, #22 Chris Ferguson, #28 Aaron Barley, #1H Clary Perry, #22 Jordan Dill after the incident all were able to continue. On the restart we then watched as the race unfolded to the end seeing the 2 Double Deuce machines of Ferguson and Dill ralley to the front and finish in the top 10 at race end. After a late race caution flying over the field with 7 laps to go verybody had atleast one for shot at the Peck Motorsports Rocket Chevy Monte Carlo #33 but after the green fell Meadows was gone and put on the after-burners to and never had anyone else to contend with as the checkerd flag fell and he pocketed the $2,000 payday and it made his 2nd win on the FASTRAK City Chervolet Touring Division Series with now both coming from the 4/10th mile in Hanover,WV.
