"Daytime Event Sees 2nd Winner at Thunder Mountain in Race 2 of Mountain Madness"

(Hanover,WV) Friday nights FASTRAK event scheduled that payed $2,000 to win during the "VP Race to the Pole Qualifying" on track activity had to be halted immeadiately because of rain lasting only minutes. Ounce the rain stopped FASTRAK and Thunder Mountain Speedway STAFF went quickly to work with also the help of the drivers to keep the track sealed and did just. During the 2nd attempt to conclude "VP Race for the Pole Qualifying" the heavens really opened up with a severe thunderstorm and the track was washed out and POSTPONED.

There was no more threats for weather which came the decision to run Fridays event as per dicussed earlier in the week to Sunday afternoon. After Hot Laps it was a surprising thing to see the #33 of Chris Meadows being the overall fastest car on the 4/10th mile on a hot humid & sultry Sunday afternoon as the outside Tempertures were in the upper 90s and the in car race conditions were around 130 degrees or more.

During VP Race for the Pole Qualifying it was again guess who?? #33 Chris Meadows grabbing P1 with a very low car count which was knew to happen because the Sunday decision to race was a Saturday afternoon decision the day before the race event many drivers couldn't commit or had to go home cause of far travels or work related commitments. Stan Lester FASTRAK Founder/CEO decided to make Sundays event Non Touring Points but keep purse the same and also award FASTRAK Track Points with also the chance to get one of the 12 races you need to lock in to compete in the BIG FASTRAK World Championships. Also it was announced before the start of the 30 Lap A-Main after Qualifying where everyone advanced to the Feature that Maria Melillo from FK Rod Ends who is a very big asset to the FASTRAK Racing Series and other motorsports programs all over the country was gonna put up $500.oo to the highest finishing driver who is a 2012 Member of the FASTRAK Racing Series.. entitled the $500.oo FK Rod Ends FASTRAK Member Bonus for the 30 lap race event at Thunder Mountain Speedway.

Things were run alot smoother for the racing and caution flags compared to the yellow flag fever event the night before won by #33 of Chris Meadows winning from the pole position. At the drop of the green flag 15 Stars & Cars of the FASTRAK City Chevrolet Touring Division roared down the frontstretch for the "go stick" and just like on Saturdays $3k to win event the unison feeling went down again with the same car #8 Heath Ellis looping it around in Turns 1 & 2 and the field had to regroup again for an Original start it was also decided by FASTRAK Asst. Race Director Travis Scott and Stan Lester were in agreement that in the event of visibility because of racing dirt in the day the yellow would fall. Let me just end this by saying that visibilityissues never tooken place. Another yellow flag fell on lap 7 for "debris" being spotted on the frontstretch exiting turn 4 and we doubled em up and went again on that restart #22 Chris Ferguson from Mt. Holly,NC which started the event on the outside pole took it to the top then drove way down to the cushion off turn 2 and to #33 Meadows's driver door and finally was able to sail away from the Rocket Chevy Monte Carlo of Meadows to the point in his Barry Wright Chevy Impala SS. Meanwhile with "Fergy" pulling away from the field great racing was taking place during the day time conditions. #28 of Mt. Hope,WV Aaron Barley and #11 of Inman,SC David Smith were really fighting and clawing with eachother fenders on the track in the top five positions with both drivers not letting up one bit and putting on an extrodinary performance for the fans. Also another great race was between #33 of Meadows and #44 of Beckley,WV's K.C.Burdette in the late stages remaining in the event as Meadows Hoosier rubber was fading away and he was losing gain of Ferguson and eventually Burdette. With 7 laps to go #4 of Rogersville,TN got the bad end of the racing deal when #00 of Jeremy Livingood and #11M of Zack Mitchell were contending hard inside the top eight when they're contact and hard racing made Smith the victim and he wrecked in 3 & 4 but was able to continue. On the restart #22 Chris Ferguson would not be denied victory as he went on to win the $2,000 to win feature and pocket another $500.oo in the FK Rod Ends FASTRAK Member Bonus and also to add he's a proud supporter of Maria and Team FK!!

With that victory he became the 3rd different driver to have 2 FASTRAK Touing wins in 2012 which are #27b Dennis "Rambo" Franklin - Wythe,VA and Princeton,WV, #33 Chris Meadows - Hanover,WV (twice) and Chris "Fergy" Ferguson - Madison,NC & Hanover,WV!!
