Indiana Sprint Week reflections
Indiana Sprint Week for the USAC National Sprint Car Series is history for another year and once again it's 8 shows spread over 14 days was the best racing anywhere on the planet. It was good enough and relevant enough to get a shout out from Speed Channel's Dave Despain on Wind Tunnel, which it richly deserved.
Unfortunately for us, we only got to 3 of the races due to work schedule and a rain out rescheduled on a date that we couldn't make it back for.
The races we were able to attend were as entertaining as anyone could hope them to be. Thanks to all the promoters/track owners. Especially Bob Sargent and the O'Connor's for no support classes and great track preparation at Terre Haute in the face of the worst drought in decades.
Putnamville was just a bit dusty but also had no support classes to further wear the track out and add to the dustiness and the racing was great, as well.
Bloomington also surpassed expectations, as usual, and judging by the video we watched of the other races there wasn't anything close to a yawner at any of the rest of the series dates.
I'm sure there was a good reason but it's a shame that Brownstown wasn't on the schedule this year since last year it was one of the best races the USAC sprinters ran all year.
Thanks again to everyone responsible for making Indiana Sprint Week the best series of races on dirt in the country, bar none.
Already looking forward to ISW in 2013.

i agree brownstown was really good and you could throw a blanket over top five, would have been better then action track. i just do not understand.

Yea, Btown was probably the best race of the series last year. That said, I was also at Terre Haute last year and it was a very close second in entertainment value. Chris Windom won by running the bottom but he had Robert Ballou way up by the wall running the wheels off of his machine and actually inching ahead of Windom momentarily just about ever lap right up till the checkered flag.
Terre Haute was a great race last year but not quite as good this year. They can't all be barn burners. Since I'm not at all an insider I don't know why Btown was not included this year but it's a shame it wasn't.

You must remember Brownstown is a bit unstable in calls management makes at times. It's kind of hit and miss.

Bubba, I don't know anything about the management or their decisions. If what you're saying is true, and I have no reason to believe it isn't, then it's kind of sad that's the way it is.
I know they all can't be that good but that ISW show at Btown last year was GREAT!!
