Motor questions
To start, I have a decent bottom end sbc motor, good rods, bolts, bearings etc. Our track is having a big payout race in November in which the rules have been opened up. The rules will be:
"CAST IRON BLOCKS, HEADS AND EXHAUST ONLY. NO ENGINE SETBACKS, ENGINE MUST BE IN STOCK LOCATION.
STAMP STEEL ROCKERS ONLY, NO ROLLERS.
GUIDE PLATES AND SCREW IN STUDS OK.
NO ROLLER CAMS.
NO PORTING OR POLISHING OF ANY KIND.
CAST IRON OR ALUMINUM INTAKE OK.
HOLLEY 4412 CARB ONLY. NO MODS."
Im looking for what would be the best cam, heads, springs etc. Basically all the valve train. Any creative ideas out there?
Thanks.

What is it you currrently have for a shortblock and what is your budget?

Its a cast iron 350 block, 4 bolt. stock crank with good bolts all around. not sure on pistons and rods but by the rules, it must be stock. Im assuming it has valve relief pistons. I will know more about it when i break it down to ring and bearing it.

Vortec heads and the Victor intake for them.
