Lake Cumberland Speedway Kicks Off August with Full Racing Program on Saturday August 4

Burnside, KY-July 29, 2012- Lake Cumberland Speedway track promoter Brandon Hardgrove and staff will again return with racing action again on Saturday evening August 4 as the 3/8 mile semi-banked clay oval will present a full racing program of action for all four weekly divisions.

The Saturday August 4 racing event will feature the Super Late Model division racing for $1,000 to win in a 25 lap main event. The Modified division will also be in competition in a 20 lap, $600 to win feature race contest. Also in competition on Saturday August 4 will be the Super Dirt Stocks/Sportsman racing for $300 to win (8 car minimum) and Front Wheel Drives racing for $100 (8 car minimum). The Super Late Model, Modified, and Super Dirt Stock/Sportsman divisions will time trial, while the Front Wheel Drives will pill draw for heat race starting positions. All divisions will also have qualifying heats to set their respective divisions feature event line-up. RACEceivers are mandatory for those racers in the Super Late Model and Modified divisions.

Activities for the Saturday August 4 racing event will see the pit area and general admission area open at 4:00 p.m., with a mandatory drivers meeting at 7:00 p.m. Practice is set to begin at 7:30 p.m., followed immediately by time trials and green flag racing. Ticket prices for the Saturday August 4
racing event in the general admission area will be $12 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 10, and children ages 5 and under will be free. A pit pass will be $30.

Lake Cumberland Speedway last competed on Saturday July 28 and feature event winners that evening included Jeff Watson of Campbellsville, KY in Super Late Models, Tommy Bailey of Corbin, KY in Modifieds, Keith Decker of Somerset, KY in Super Dirt Stock/Sportsman, and Johnnie Adams of Somerset, KY in Front Wheel Drives.

Current track championship point leaders heading into the August 4 racing program include Johnny Wheeler of Campbellsville, KY in Super Late Models, Tommy Bailey of Corbin, KY in Modifieds, Keith Decker of Somerset, KY in Super Dirt Stocks/Sportsman, and Rusty Light of Nancy, KY in Front Wheel Drives.

Lake Cumberland Speedway is located at 1 Racetrack Road, just outside of Burnside, KY, just past the entrance to General Burnside Island State Park. Brandon Hardgrove is the track promoter and presents dirt track racing entertainment on Saturday evenings. The track is located on Racetrack Road off of US Hwy. 127 South, only about five miles south of Somerset, KY.
