    Pretty tough for the flagman to be RD too. The RD is sometimes the person on the raceceiver radios, the RD is also in contact with officials in the pits making sure cars are called and lined up. Also in contact with track prep/maintenance people.
    The rd runs the show. The flagman runs the race. The infield workers, and scorer are all integral parts of the team. BTW scoring is probably the toughest job of all the officials.
