Tony Stewart wins from outside pole!

19 SOD sprints showed at the Bull Ring with 16 cars making the Amain.

Tony Stewart led most of the 30 lap feature but with #00 Grubaugh (started 14th as winner of BMain) coming from the back and riding the high side the lead was swapped with 3 to go. Grubaugh jumps low behind lap traffic while Smoke jumps to the high side as they crossed the start/finish with 2 to go. Smoke dives low back in turn 1 in front of Grubaugh as Grubaugh jumps back to the high side to take the white flag. Lap traffic hinders Tony on the low side going into one, and Grubaugh rides the cushion out of 2 side by side. Tony keeps it low going into 3 with Grubaugh riding the cushion, but Grubaugh hits the berm a little too hard and flies off turn 3 and onto the pavement on his wheels to finish 4th. Tony flies out of turn 4 to take the win. What a great finish! Coming home 2nd was #49 and current SOD pt leader Gregg Dalman. Steve Irwin came home in 3rd.

We had 41 fast 600 minisprints with Sara Elrod (#23s) leading from green to checkers with #33z Zeke Lewis 2nd and #21s Randy Shilling taking 3rd. Blane Culp #34 (14 to 7th), Josh Ross #34r(15th to 8th), and Brian Busz #75B (transfer from BMain, 18th to 11th) won hard charger awards for moving up the most positions in the AMain.

We spent the evening prepping the track for a better racing surface. Track was smooth and held up very well. Dust did hamper us a bit due to having the asphalt but drivers and fans were patient with us to help keep the dust down.

We had 60 cars in 2 classes in the pits and a full grandstand! This is just a great sample of what there is to come on Sept. 1 for the big 410 Sprint Earl Gaerte classic with 600 minisprints. Hope to see fans and drivers return for a great event.
