Labor Day Weekend on Saturday Sept. 1st, 2012 the “Rebel 40” at Winchester Speedway a $3000 To-Win 40 Lap Super Late Model Event

Winchester, TN (08/22/2012)- Winchester Speedway ( Winchester, TN) is set to host the “Rebel 40” a $3000 to-win 40 lap super late model race, along with regular divisions racing on Saturday September 1st, 2012.

On Saturday September 1st, 2012 action will get underway with gates opening at 3 pm, cars entering to race must be entered by 6 pm. Drivers meeting will take place at 6 pm and hot laps and racing will follow after the drivers meeting.

Super Late Models will group qualify and run heat races. Number of groups will be based on car count and to determine the number of cars locked in on time from each group will also be based on car count, the remaining cars will run heat races to determine starting position for the “Rebel 40” feature event. There will be a $100 entry fee for the super late models and non qualifiers will receive $50 back. Along with the super late models racing on Saturday Sept. 1st will also be the 2 Barrel Late Models, Modified Stocks, Vintage Dwarf Cars, and Pure Stock Pony.

Admission for Saturday’s event will be $15 for General Admission and Pit Admission will be $30, Kids 12 and Under will be Free. Gates Open at 3pm, Drivers Meeting at 6pm and Racing starts directly after Drivers Meeting.

Winchester Super Late Model Rules
1. No Radios, mirrors, or flashing lights
2. Tires: Hoosier 1600 shoulder plate , LM 40, American Racer 56. Optional Hoosier or American Racer 70 Rear Tires only: must punch no less than 50 after qualifying and have id.# number
A) NO CONDITIONERS OR CHEMICALS ALLOWED
3. Unified body rules.
4. Open engines with 8" spoiler 2,300 pounds, open engine steel block 2250lb.
362 Spec engines with 12" spoiler 2,250 lbs 362 max, SAS/SUPR rules. Spec heads and intake, must have markings on head and intake, any camshaft, and steel block.
525 Crate 2,250 pounds with 12” spoiler. 602& 604 Crate 12” spoiler 2150 lbs.
A) All the above weights are allowed 1 pound per lap burn off
5. No traction control devices; refer to protest rule #10.

Ford has been saying for some time that the Fiesta is going to get a three-cylinder motor. Specifically, the motor under consideration is the EcoBoost 1.0-liter found in the European-specification Ford Focus.
