    Default 3 link ????

    this is a question for the people in the know out there.. the setup i keep hearing about is to run the spring in front on the left rear and on top of the right so i think i want to go that route, but im not sure where to mount the spring? is it best on top of the 3 link mount or somewhere else, also where is the best place to mount the shock? front or back. thank you in advance, just trying to measure twice and cut once.

    put the left rear on a clamp bracket infront with shock behind

    Why not run spring behind on a slider on the right rear and the shock in front? Spring on the front and shock behind on the left? Or does having the spring on top of the right rear do something better like stabilize the car?

    Spring behind on the right rear can dewedge the chassis and make handling more erratic. Mount spring on lr 5 inches from edge of housing to center of spring, 15 degrees in, slightly tilted back.

    The best 3 link i ever had was swing arm LR spring on the housing RR. Got realy slick you could put spring behind on RR.

    Sorry for the all the questions. I am just trying to understand the 3 link setup. So keep the spring on top on rr unless it goes totally slick then put it on the rear. Why couldn't you run a stiffer spring behind on the rear to take away the dewedging then put a lighter one on in the slick? With both sides clamped up it would seem it would work. However, I have never ran it and trust those that have. Really just thinking outloud.

    Because its a variable that's hard to adjust for. I've run the rr on top on some super slick tracks and had really fast cars. Keep your ballast up high and run a 175 in front on the lr and a 200 or 225 on top on the rr.

    is the 3 link your working with a pullbar or soild upper link?

    When you run the RR spring behind the axle it dewedges the lf and RR, making the cross higher,. So it should make a tighter car.

    if your working with a pullbar listen to what charcoal is telling, he understand the 3 link pretty good. Not to speak to him but i believe when running a 175lbs spring on the left rear make sure its a long one at least 16 or 20 inch.

    we run a 3 link pro stock car with a pullbar or solid depending on where we run, but LR spring in front of the axle and RR spring on top. LR shock behind and RR shock behind

    So if I have both sides clamped up, I should be running the spring behind axle on LR and spring in front of axle on RR. Is this correct?

    No, spring in front on lr, in back on rr. Again, only put rr behind if you can't run it on top.

    would it be ok to run a coilover on the left rear or should you go with a slider and shock?

    I run a 3 link..I'm running a BSB Slider on the LR in front and the LR shock behind the the LR end. I run a coilover on top of the Right rearend..Both have a 175 lb spring and it works good for me.
