COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Thunders into Muskogee this Weekend

Beebe, Arkansas (09/25/12) – The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Super Late Model tour will head west this weekend, September 28th-29th, for the 2nd Annual Thunderfest presented by Mark Martin Auto Group at Thunderbird Speedway (Muskogee, Oklahoma).

Last Saturday at I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas) Jack Sullivan scored the win, while Jon Mitchell from Texarkana, Texas was able to extend his lead to twelve points over defending CCSDS Champion, Brandon Smith. Jon Kirby, Curtis Cook, Robert Baker, Chandler Petty, Kyle Beard, Keith Lawson, Tommy Surrett, and Kenneth Jackson.

Robert Baker continues to hold a dominant lead in the Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year battle over Chandler Petty, and Kenneth Jackson.

This weekend's 2nd Annual Thunderfest presented by Mark Martin Auto Group will see the CCSDS Super Late Model pilots going head-to-head with the MARS Super Late Model tour in a pair of events.

On Friday night the program will be headlined by a $3,000-to-win/$350-to-start, 25 lap event, while Saturday's program will include a $5,000-to-win/$450-to-start, 30 lap finale.

The track's Open Wheel Modified division will be competing both nights paying $1000-to-win/$100-to-start each night. Any driver who can win the Open Wheel Modified feature both nights will earn an extra $500. There is a one-time $100 entry fee. The 360/B-Mod feature winner both nights will pay $300-to-win and $50 to start, while the IMCA/NCRA type Southern Sport Modified feature winner each night will earn $300. The Street Stock division will pay $300-to-win, while Pure Stocks pay $150-to-win.

Thursday night’s open practice starts at 6:00 pm with free grandstand admission. Friday and Saturday night will see gates opening at 5:00 pm with hot laps beginning at 7:00 pm and racing action at 7:30 pm.
Grandstand admission prices for Friday night are $20 for ages fifteen and up, free for those fourteen years of age and under. Saturday night grandstand admission is $25 and free for ages fourteen and under. Pit passes both days are $35.
