‘Championship Night at The Gap’ scheduled Saturday, Sept. 29 at Volunteer Speedway

BULLS GAP, Tenn. — The 2012 racing season at Volunteer Speedway will come to an end with “Championship Night at The Gap” on Saturday, Sept. 29.

Headlining the racing program will be a $3,000-to-win Super Late Model (40 laps) event, along with $1,000-to-win Fastrak Racing Series-sanctioned Pro (Crate) Late Model (30 laps) and $500-to-win Modified Hobby (25 laps) features, plus Open Wheel Modified (20 laps) and Mini Stock (15 laps) action.

Adult grandstand admission is $15, youth (ages 11-15) $10, with kids 10-and-under admitted free in the grandstands. Pit passes and backside tier-parking $30, regardless of age.

The pit gate opens at 4 p.m. and the grandstand gate opens at 5 p.m. Drivers’ meeting set for 6:15 p.m. Hotlaps are tentatively scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., to be followed by time trials and then racing action getting green flag around 8:30 p.m.

Directions to Volunteer Speedway: South on Interstate 81 from Tennessee/Virginia state lines, take Exit 23 (Bulls Gap/Greeneville), then turn right onto Hwy. 11-E at bottom of the exit ramp. Look for track entrance approximately 200 yards on left.

North on Interstate 81 from I-81/I-40 split (East of Knoxville, TN), take Exit 23, then turn left onto Hwy. 11-E at bottom of the exit ramp. Continue underneath the interstate over-pass and track entrance approximately 300 yards ahead on left.
