    Default Choice of stock sbc cylinder head for a 9.5:1 motor?

    other than vortec and camel hump, which casting #'s are the perferred?

    can't use 492, I was thinking of 882, or 441

    If you're starting from scratch and are allowed to run them....you'd be better off going with a set of IMCA spec EQ heads...you're gonna have about as much into a set of stockers as you will a complete assembled ready to go EQ's...they are suposed to be as good or better than the 487x. But if you have to run stock...I would choose in the order I posted.

    Hey Jeff. I heard that the eq heads were 30 lbs heavier?? I have never looked into it , was told that this weekend. Have you weighed them? Im on 487 heads now.

    mine eq's were 55lbs each complete.

    I just weighed a 487x and it was 47 lbs.
