Chris Meadows Wins $7,000 and The Coveted Final Spot In The FASTRAK World Championship

(Crab Orchard, West Virginia driver snatches victory in Weekly World Challenge 50-lap event at Beckley, West Virginia Motorsports Park.)

Four Oaks, North Carolina – Twenty-four drivers took the green flag in the Weekly World Challenge 50 lap event at Beckley West Virginia Motorsports park in search of the $7,000 first prize and the final starting spot in the FASTRAK World Championship. After all of the beating, banging and slide jobs were through, it was Chris Meadows who was the first driver under the checkered flag. Meadows beat Bemus Point, NY driver Chad Ruhlman to the line for the 25th and final starting spot in the FASTRAK World Championship. Fellow West Virginian Aaron Barley came home in the third position while Josh Holtgraver made the trip from Pittsburgh, PA and finished fourth. Joe Martin also towed down from Pennsylvania and rounded out the top five finishers in the Weekly Challenge. David Smith, Jensen Ford, Kyle Lukon, Mike Smith and John Over completed the top 10 drivers.

Smith started on the pole for the 50 lap event with Holtgraver on his outside. The race went green for seven laps before Frankie Beard cut a tire and brought out the first caution flag of the event. The race went back to green and the leaders completed lap 22 before Lukon went for a spin in turn three. It only took two more laps before Jensen Ford also went for a twirl to cause the yellow flag to be deployed once more. After the race went back to full speed racing, Trent Ivey wrecked out of the race on lap 32. It was lap 37 when Jimmie Schlitz brought out the fifth caution flag of the event.

The big fracas of the event occurred on lap 43 when Dan Angelicchio and Tate Hughes, after both working their way from the back of the pack to the lead, took each other out in turn one. A final caution flag flew for debris on lap 46. The final four laps went green with Meadows in dominating fashion taking the win from holding off all comers and securing the 25th starting position in the FASTRAK World Championship.

The racing was superb and exciting throughout the event and the sacrifice of whether using all you had for the Weekly World Challenge or saving it for the World Championship came into play many numerous times with some drivers making the good call and saving their equipment or others chose the other route and ended up with torn up cars, parts and equipment. Which in doing so took away their chances of being locked in for the 2012 World Championship. For some drivers but most of all for Chris Meadows is was his chance at redemption after having everything go perfect on Topless Race #2 in Friday Night Fights in Beckley,West Virginia to have to end his night in disbelief then going through the A,B,C's format to get back to the Weekly World Championship and win to get extra exposure for the FOX Sports Telecast and make it to the big one the $22,000 to win FASTRAK World Championship.

59 different drivers from 10 states attempted to try and make it into the A-Main for the weekly drivers. The field was whittled down to the 24 starters through the typical alphabet soup of mains. Meadows win was again as i stated redemption for him after he came up just one position short in Friday night’s topless event which took the Top 20 finishers from the Topless Twin 40's to the World Championship Qualifying rounds.
