    Default R07 motor??

    is anybody running the r07 motors in dirt latemodels yet?? they look like a good piece and are cheap enough . tossing the idea around for next year and looking for input,thanks.

    well they are heavy with the steel block. and the money youd have to spend to make it a 410+cid to get it to flatten out the torque curve you could have close to a nice 15-9 degree motor thats a good hundred pounds lighter and same power. plus with the bore spacing they are sorta a non interchangable piece so you wouldn have many options to change things around. there only a few crank makers gonna make a 3.75+ stroke ro7 crank and there gonna want about 4 grand for it so just not there yet i think. hard to beat that dart 9 degree for the money and weight.

    I personally don't think the R07 design is going to be practical on an Aluminum block powerplant. I'm sure there will be some try it somewhere but its hard to beat the 4.5 bore spacing Dart 9* or 10* brodix.
