    Default What is the best head gasket for Aluminum heads with steel block?

    Whats the best head gasket to use? Brand and part # please I am running a steel block with aluminum heads, 3.47 crank, 6"rods, 2 valve relief flattops

    4.030 is the bore size

    Fel-Pro 1003 is what I would use.

    I would use a mls gasket such as the 1142.

    FP1043 will give you more compression with that bore

    The MLS gaskets work great AS LONG AS THE BLOCK IS SMOOTH! LOL That block I got burnt on last year wouldn't seal with them. Used the SuperSeal from Mr.Gasket. Stuck like glue! Too bad for the hidden crack beside the cam!

    MLS is what I bought, had a Fel Pro 1003 like above on it and it worked ok.
