    Question 1980 chevy el camino

Anyone tried running a el camino in a street stock class? I've got one and was wondering if it was worth building a street stock out of or strip it for parts. Not sure how it would scale out.

No rear %, the cage would be too far forward. Strip it. Careful on the frame, the front and rear can be used, only the center is long.

I built one years ago for a guy. Rear % was low, but the crowd/ announcer loved it running against the cars.

I would of liked to started with a metric El Camino frame and just threw a monte carlo roof on it with a fabricated slab body like my car will have, of course you could land a small Cessna on the hood of the car when you had the body done if you put the roof in the stock location of a regular monte carlo as compared to the rear wheel openings considering the wheel base is roughly 9 inches longer...
