Default New Ucar Series for 2013

A new Ucar Series is coming to the Winchester Speedway dirt track in Winchester, VA. Held on the 3rd Saturday of the month, the Virginia Heritage UCAR Series will be one of the premier races held for 4 cylinder front wheel drive dirt cars. Even before the new year has started, all five races have been sponsored. The speedway will have their complete schedule posted in January, but here's the dates for the new series.

The rules are available now at www.winchestervaspeedway.com.
Open to engines without double overhead cams and/or 4 valves per cylinders, the races offer the more affordable Cavaliers and Escorts bigger purses for the feature event, plus money to all the heat race winners, giving racers additional awards. How many tracks give pay envelopes for heat races? See sample below:

There was a similar series last year, and every race drew more than 30 cars. New cars are being built and the word is getting out, so it is possible to have over 40 Ucars per race. With 40 or more cars this means 4 heat races and 4 chances to get a "bonus" pay envelope in addition to the feature purse.

In addition to the heat race payouts, bigger purses (over $1000 to 1st place in the series last year), there will be lots of bonus surprises. Last year buckets of car supplies were presented to heat race winners.

Do you think the straight-a-ways are banked at Winchester? Look at how the people are leaning!
This year the series promoters want to top last years efforts. Schedule is coming out in January, but it is easy to remember. It's the 3rd Saturday of the month. Start planning on being part of the Virginia Heritage UCAR Series.

All the heat races for the first race in the Virginia Heritage UCAR Series to be held April 20, 2013 have been sponsored. Costello's Body and Paint of Winchester, VA joined Al's Machine Shop of Strasburg, VA and Pork Chop Customs also of Strasburg, in sponsoring the qualifying races . The feature will be sponsored by Lowery's Custom Sawmilling in Round Hill, VA.

It's amazing that this support for the Ucars has happened 3 months in advance and Ucar drivers are looking forward to the next season. Although the sponsorship is complete for the first race, work is underway to secure sponsors for the heats in the other 4 races (May - August). Anyone interested in supporting this series can get in touch with Denise Hollidge at www.winchestervaspeedway.com\

Work continues on the Virginia Heritage UCAR Series. Last year's pace truck sign has been sanded.

The background has been painted and soon the sign will be lettered with the 2013 info. Notice the official Virginia flag. The sign will be modified to hold a small flag pole, so the state colors can be proudly displayed.

The April race is going to be a good one. As of now, the race will feature a $250 to win feature, additional awards to the heat race winners, and a lucky dog award. The American Foxhound is the Virginia state dog, and that's why it's called the lucky dog award. One of the wooden blocks is pulled from the jar, before the feature. Only the track manager knows the number (from 2 to 30). Whoever finishes in that position wins. More details are yet to come, so "stay tuned".

Many race series have their own logo and they provide competitors with decals to identify them with the race series.
The Virginia Heritage Ucar Series has its own logo and will provide Ucars that participate in the 2013 series with
decals too. Ucars that have the decal will be eligible for the special heat race awards.
The decals will be given out at the first series race on April 20th. Keep a 6" round area on your driver's side near the "A" pillar clean!

Something new, for the feature winners in the Virginia Heritage Ucar Series which has its first race on April 20th. The winner and
only the winner, will receive a custom, embroidered racing cap. Only one cap for each of the five races.

Last year I got together with a buddy of mine and started a 5 race series for Ucars called the B & B Ucar Challenge. It was very successful. This year we are trying to make it even better and classier by calling it the Virginia Heritage Ucar Series. For our April race it is $250 to win. We also pay $25 for each heat race winner. So if someone wins both the heat and the feature, they will win $275! We also raise the payout to the top 10 drivers in the feature.
But that's not all. We have embroidered hats for the feature winners, a Lucky Dog award ($25), and for the mechanics of each heat race winning Ucar, a Top Mechanic plaque plus a 5 gal. bucket filled with shop supplies (valued at over $70 each).

The promoters of the Virginia Heritage Ucar Series have decided to have a separate points system in order to calculate an over all series champion. Work is underway on a "special trophy" and cash award for the series champion. The points system is unique to this series. Points will be awarded based on the number of entrants. That way a race with more Ucars will provide more points to the winner. Example - If there are 37 entrants, the winner will get 37 points, 2nd place gets 36, 3rd gets 35, and so on. If there are only 15 Ucars at a series event, the winner will only get 15 points. Points are completely separate from any track points and will be tabulated by B & B Promotions.

Work continues on the Virginia Heritage Ucar Series. In addition to the $250 to win feature event, winning drivers of the 3 heat races will pick up an extar $25. But that's not all. The crew chief of each heat race winner will receive a 5 gallon bucket filled with goodies. Buckets will be awarded at the starting line after the completion of the heat races on April 20th. Work continues to increase the payouts right up to race day!

Just completed the trophy for the Virginia Heritage Ucar Series. It stands 18" tall and will be
awarded to the driver with the most points at the end of the series. Points will be awarded
based on the number of entrants and is separate from any track points system.
