Rick Eckert Kicks Off ‘13 Season at Three Different Southern Venues; Adds Product Sponsors!

(YORK, PENNSYLVANIA) Rick Eckert Racing is primed to kick off their 2013 racing season with a trip south to Georgia and Florida to compete at three southern speedplants. Their campaign will start on February 8-9 with a visit to Redd Griffin’s Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, Georgia for another version of the ‘Winter Freeze.’ The opening events for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series will pay $8,000 to win this Friday night and $10,000 to the winner on Saturday evening. Rick Eckert had a sterling run in last year’s edition of the ‘Winter Freeze,’ as he finished third behind only $20,000 victor Darrell Lanigan and runner-up Ray Cook.

Following the lid lifter at Screven, all attention will then turn to the ‘Bubba Army Late Model Winter Nationals’ scheduled for February 15-17 at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Florida. A trio of World of Outlaws Late Model Series showdowns will headline the weekend at BRP. The $7,000 to win opener on Friday will be followed by a $10,000 to win program on Saturday and a super Sunday event that will boast a whopping $20,000 payday. Rick was victorious in last year’s ‘Bubba Army Late Model Winter Nationals’ finale at Bubba Raceway Park, as he earned a cool $12,000 for his efforts.

The #24 team will then conclude their trip south for “Speedweeks 2013” from February 18-23 at the renowned Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida. The six-race ‘UNOH DIRTcar Nationals Presented by Summit Racing Equipment’ will have events sanctioned by both the UMP DIRTcar Series and World of Outlaws Late Model Series with top prizes ranging from $7,000 to $10,000. In all and weather pending, Rick plans to enter a total of eleven races from February 8-23 including the first eight World of Outlaws Late Model Series programs of the year. Additional information on the events at Screven, Ocala, and Volusia can be accessed by clicking on www.woolms.com.
