The Southern Regional Racing Series finally kicked off the 2013 season this Saturday at Boyd's Speedway for the $3,000 to win Cabin Fever 40.
Officially 49 cars registered to battle for the $3,000 to win main event. We had five groups. Every car would run a heat race under the new SRRS format with the TOP 4 being inverted in each heat after qualifying.
Michael Page would win the pole position and never look back as he cruised to his first SRRS victory.
Congratulations to Michael Page on winning the first event of the season!
Thanks to Boyd's Speedway for a great night of racing action!

Really like the the new format with all cars running heats... Thanks for giving the fans more.

Not a fan of the new format. Didn't like the inversion of the top four in each group. Seems like the drivers are punished for doing well.

That format probably shouldn't have been used for a day race.

I agree-don't use this format for day races but use it for night races when the track is more tacky/racey. Again the new format is more exciting for the fans and i believe the drivers will like it more on night races.
