Jimmy Mars Returns Home from Speedweeks; Preps for Inaugural NDRL Weekend

(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) Jimmy Mars and his #28 team returned back to their Menomonie, Wisconsin race shop earlier this week following a seven-race stint in the Sunshine State of Florida. The Mars Racing team entered a lone event at the Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Florida on February 15 and all six shows during the annual ‘UNOH DIRTcar Nationals’ at the Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida from February 18-23. With stout fields the norm during “Speedweeks,” Jimmy was able to transfer his #28 MB Customs ride into five main events while in Florida.

His best performance of the trip down south came at Volusia on Thursday, February 21. Jimmy ran third in heat race action at the Daytona Beach area speedplant and later picked off five competitors during the $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Late Model Series feature event en route to a steady seventh place effort. You can read a full race-by-race recap from “Speedweeks” by clicking on www.jimmymarsracing.com.

The Mars Racing team will now focus on getting their cars refreshed, as well as catching up on the completion of several new MB Customs Late Models and Modifieds for clients across the country. Next up on their racing schedule will be the first two National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) events, which will be held on March 29-30 at the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky and the Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri. Both one-day showdowns will boast hefty $20,000 top prizes and will pay $1,500 just to start the A-Main. Additional information can be obtained by logging onto www.thendrl.com.
