    Does anyone lubricate the axle before installation... Wondering more on the spool side

    Just put a little grease on each end and you will be fine.

    I use grease as well, never used to do anything but a top late model team said to use grease

    Are you lubing axles with steel or aluminum spools? Or both?

    I always lube the axles regardless of material type, its just good practice to make sure everythign moves as freely and possibly. Plus the grea wont damage anything if it mixes in with the gear lube.
