    Default imca rule?

What are approved listening devices? Is an iPod approved? What cameras are approved just go pro? If so is mounting locations limited?

Not sure about the listening devices. I have seen lots of different cameras used and in many different locations.

Raceceiver is the listening device used by the majority of tracks.

Raceceiver is the only approved listening device if the track uses them. I wouldn't get caught with your IPod in the car, some tech guy might not know what it is or might know what it is and still DQ you. Any camera is approved as far as I know, just cant have it under the car shooting the rear suspension.

Any camera is allowable exctept suspension cams but they have to be approved for use by an official. The Raceceiver is the only approved listening device, there are a couple different ones that I have seen but most are the basic yellow Raceceiver. Havent seen anyone use an I Pod but that would be a no no, FWIW I am an IMCA tech at Independence Motor Speedway

Not sure I understand why you can't have a camera shooting the suspension.

Ya I wasn't sure if you could mount a camera to watch your gauges because it would be recording technical information. And I wouldn't see why an iPod would be a big deal people can't transmit to it but then again no one likes being dq

Yet more reasons IMCA is a joke.
