Okay Slick, I am officially givng SOME unions due credit for the good work they are hopefully doing, BUTT! The large Unions are basically rotten to the core. Sorry for being totally critical when I should only be 98% critical!!!

In today's world government is bought and sold. The only person with out buying power is the unorganized labor. The Doctors Insurance, stock market, Bankers, Lawyers and Defense, just to name a few are all organized and have clout in Washington. Just who do you have?
You could say you have your vote. Most don't use their vote and anti labor groups pay for advertisement to convince you that all unions are thugs. It's kind of like when Bobby Knight was coach at Indiana. He was an A$$, but he was their A$$.
Some say the Union out lived it's usefulness. We have labor laws that they gave us. Do you think for one minute, we will continue to enjoy these labor laws, with out some group to fight to protect them?
Leave work issues to the citizens themselves instead of being coopted by King Richard Trumpka and goosesteppers. lol

Unions always want all the labor to belong to the union. It increases their effectiveness. If they excluded someone, it would raise a red flag. If you go to work in a union shop and don't join, it's a lot like the cousin that comes to a family pot luck and never brings anything. Looking for a free ride.
But the Unions are living in the White House with their Furor! Trumpka brags about all of his visits.

That sounds a lot like the battle cry of the anti-union interest groups. Divide and conquer. It's fine for Wall Street and even Small business groups to consolidate for lobbying and candidate support, but not for the working man. Organized employers is good. Organized Labor is bad. Do realize how silly that sounds? Do you realize how silly that is?
The thing is, it's hard for a man to vote against his own wallet, and that is what you are preaching. Employers don't do it, yet you think labor should.

Look, I don't have all the answers, but socialist unions in bed with a Progressives government and President stinks to high heaven, and that is the truth!! Plus large unions want as many immigrants as they can get to refortify unions and lower wages.
You want unions, fine, go grab some brass knuckles and take your cause to the streets. lol

Wall Street and big business in bed with government is no better. It is not the unions that will bring in the new immigration bill. It does not benefit the unions to lower their memberships wages. This amnesty bill will be bi partisan if it gets passed and it won't be from union backing.
The next fib you are going to pass on is if republicans Don't vote for amnesty, they will never win another election. That well may be, but it won't be from illegals voting democrat, it will be from republican benefactors withdrawing contributions. If you don't do what the Boss man wants, you will hit the bricks. And the Boss man wants lower wages, not the Union.

Unions
Traditionally, the union movement strongly supported every legislative initiative in Congress to restrict immigration enforce existing immigration laws. Movement leaders knew that fluctuations in union membership were inversely related to prevailing immigration trends. Today, the AFL-CIO has turned its back on U.S. workers by endorsing illegal immigration & open borders.

AFL-CIO chief Richard Trumka said his deputies will be pushing senators to improve worker-protection measures in the Senate’s draft immigration bill.
“Is there every protection I would have liked? No,” he told The Daily Caller after a media event at the White House.
Asked if his union is pushing for more protections, Trumka said, “We are.”
How many? “A couple,” said Trumka, who is supporting passage of the controversial bill.
Asked by TheDC to describe the sought-for protections, Trumka laughed and said, “No.”
Trumka’s push for extra protections may be a problem for the bill’s prospects. In 2006 and 2007, the bills failed amid union opposition to guest-worker programs demanded by business.
Trumka was at the White House today to help Obama champion the immigration bill.
The current bill would bring in or legalize roughly 30 million people in the next 10 years, despite the current high jobless rate.

The bill would also grow the current guest-worker system to bring in roughly 1.3 million guest-workers each year. This inflow includes at least 100,000 “W visas” for blue-collar workers, as well as roughly 500,000 university-trained workers. The inflow is not popular with voters.
The visas last for up to seven years, so the bill will allow a resident guest-worker population of more than 2.5 million university-trained workers.
Union members generally oppose immigration bills. But union leaders work closely with progressive groups and Democratic legislators, who support immigration rules that can bring in more Democratic-leaning voters.
The split is pushing Trumka to support the bill and urge significant changes.
During the May markup of the bill in the Senate Judiciary Committee, Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah won support from Democrats for a measure that rolled back protections for university-trained Americans. Under Hatch’s amendment, worker protections will cover only companies that already hire many guest-workers.
The measure trumped a worker-protection section drafted by Democratic Sen. (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) Durbin of Illinois.
Prior to 2012, Durbin had worked with Sen. Chuck Grassley to establish worker protections for American graduates facing competition from guest-workers.
Trumka, however, said the bill includes protections.
“First of all, unlike the current system where they can bring them in below the minimum wage, this says any worker that comes in has to be [paid] prevailing wage or market rate, whichever is higher,” he told TheDC.
That section covers the W-Visa workers, but not university-trained guest-workers.
Also, he said, the bill “makes sure they have to actually offer these jobs to Americans,” said Trumka, who heads the huge AFL-CIO trade union movement.
The Senate bill requires employers to advertise jobs before hiring guest-workers, but does not set penalties for companies that consistently hire guest-workers before Americans.
