Jeep Van Wormer Set to Kick Off 2013 Campaign with Player Hater 50

(PINCONNING, MICHIGAN) Following a long off-season since their last race on October 6 at Eldora Speedway, the Iron Motorsports team is scheduled to kick off their highly-anticipated 2013 campaign this Saturday night, April 20 in their home state of Michigan. The Winston Speedway in Rothbury, Michigan will play host to the 7th Annual Integra Shocks & Springs ‘Player Hater 50’ this weekend. The American Late Model Series (ALMS) will preside over the season lid lifter and a $2,500 top prize will be on the line.

While Jeep Van Wormer and some of his crew members recently returned from Shinnston, West Virginia with a brand-new Rocket Chassis, he plans to race an older, refurbished Rocket on Saturday at Winston. The Pinconning, Michigan driver is seeking his third ‘Player Hater 50’ title, as he took the checkers back in 2007 and 2010. Jeep’s last venture to Winston for a ‘Player Hater 50’ was in 2011 and that trip netted him a ninth place finish. “I am really looking forward to finally opening up our season this weekend at Winston,” quoted Van Wormer tonight. “We had a couple of other races planned for Eldora Speedway and Tri-City Motor Speedway recently, but unfortunately Mother Nature had other ideas about those shows. Hopefully, we can get Saturday’s Player Hater 50 in the books and can start our year out on a strong note.”
