Josh McGuire Conquers 201 Speedway for First Victory of 2013; Tripleheader Next!

(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) After Mother Nature forced the Josh McGuire Racing (JMR) team to change their weekend plans on a couple of different occasions, they finally ended up in the pit area at the 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky on Saturday evening, April 13. The weekly Dirt Late Model program drew a strong field of cars and Josh McGuire started off his night by posting the sixth quickest time during qualifying.

Josh then won his heat race to earn the third starting spot for the feature event. The Grayson, Kentucky ace passed leader Rod Conley for the point on lap five and drove his DJ’s Kitchen Corner / Henry’s Consulting, Inc. (HCI) / GCP Engines / PRC / K&E Trucking / Ashland Specialty #41 JMR Chassis to the $1,500 victory, his first of the year, over Conley, Brandon Kinzer, Brad Neat, and Stephen Breeding. Complete results from 201 can be viewed online at www.201speedway.net.

“It is nice to get that first win of the year under our belt, especially in only our fourth start,” commented McGuire earlier this week via telephone. “I am pretty pleased with how our season has started so far and I can’t thank all of my sponsors enough for their support including DJ’s Kitchen Corner, Henry’s Consulting, Inc. (HCI), GCP Engines, PRC, K&E Trucking, and Ashland Specialty. This upcoming weekend should be a lot of fun, as I enjoy racing at all three places – 201, Southern Ohio, and I-77. Hopefully, we can run up front and maybe get win number two sometime this weekend!”

The JMR team is currently gearing up for what will be a huge weekend of racing from April 18-20. On Thursday night, the 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky will play host to a $4,000 to win Spring Nationals showdown, which will be headlined by a 40-lap feature event. The Southern Ohio Speedway in Wheelersburg, Ohio will then be the track of choice for the #41 team on Friday evening, as they will compete for the $1,500 top prize in a weekly show. On Saturday, the tripleheader weekend will wrap up with another $1,500 to win weekly program at the I-77 Raceway Park in Ripley, West Virginia.
