Ponderosa Speedway Adds $1,500 to win Event for Super Late Models on Friday April 26

Junction City, KY- April 20, 2013- After losing two consecutive events to Mother Nature, Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Larry Yantz and co-promoters Chad and Sarah Yantz are pleased to announce they have added a date to the racing schedule at the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” for this Friday April 26. The event will see the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models race for $1,500 to win, along with all other divisions in competition.

The April 26 date was originally scheduled as an off-weekend date for the track, but after losing two consecutive Friday dates to the unseasonable cool and wet weather, the track mad the decision to add this date to the schedule to make-up for the events that had been weathered out.

The Friday April 26 event will feature the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models battling for $1,500 to win in a 30 lap main event. Also in competition on the Friday April 26 racing program will be the will be the Smith Automotive Machine Shop FASTRAK Late Models racing for $600 to win in a 20 lap main event, the Bluegrass Drug Store Modifieds racing for $600 to win in a 20 lap feature event, the D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman racing for $300 to win in a 15 lap feature contest, and the Airport Road Salvage Front Wheel Drives racing for $200 in a 12 lap main event (four car minimum). RACEceivers are mandatory in all divisions and racers will need to have them in use every time they are on the racing surface and can be rented from the track at driver registration.

The A-Main payoff schedule for the Friday April 26 event at Ponderosa Speedway will be as follows:
-Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models (30 laps): 1st- $1,500, 2nd- $700, 3rd- $600, 4th- $450, 5th- $400, 6th- $350, 7th- $275, 8th- $250, 9th- $225, 10th- $200, 11th- $175, 12th through 18th- $150 to start.
-Smith Automotive Machine Shop FASTRAK Late Models (20 laps): 1st- $600, 2nd- $350, 3rd- $300, 4th- 250, 5th- $200, 6th- $175, 7th- $150, 8th- $125, 9th- $100, 10th- $85, 11th through 18th- $75 to start.
-Bluegrass Drug Store Modifieds (20 laps): 1st- $600, 2nd- $350, 3rd- $300, 4th- 250, 5th- $200, 6th- $175, 7th- $150, 8th- $125, 9th- $100, 10th- $85, 11th through 18th- $75 to start.
-D&D Pallet Sportsman (15 laps): 1st- $300, 2nd- $200, 3rd- $150, 4th- $125, 5th- $100, 6th- $90, 7th- $80, 8th- $70, 9th- $60, 10th- $55, 11th through 18th- $50 to start.
-Airport Road Salvage Yard Front Wheel Drives (12 laps): (Four or more entries)- 1st- $200, 2nd- $125, 3rd- $100, 4th- $90, 5th- $80, 6th- $70, 7th- $60, 8th- $55, 9th- $50, 10th- $45, 11th through 18th- $40 to start.

Activities for the Friday April 26 event at Ponderosa Speedway will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., while the general admission area will open at 5:00 p.m. A mandatory drivers meeting will take place at 7:00 p.m., with practice laps set to begin at 7:20 p.m. Bob Allen Motor Mall time trials will commence at 7:45 p.m., with the first race getting the green flag at 8:30 p.m. All times listed are EDT. Ticket prices for the April 26 event in the general admission area will be $12 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12, while children ages 5 and under are FREE with a paid adult. A pit pass will be $30.

Ponderosa Speedway last raced on April 5 and feature event winners included Jeremy Hines of Seymour, IN in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, Tommy Bailey of Corbin, KY in Bluegrass Drug Store Modifieds, Todd Coffman of Junction City, KY in Smith Automotive Machine Shop FASTRAK Late Models, Donnie Sullivan of Stanford, KY in D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman, and Adam Gregory of Gray, KY in Airport Road Salvage Yard Front Wheel Drives.

Ponderosa Speedway is located at 365 Phillips Lane on the Boyle/Lincoln County border, outside of Junction City, KY, just minutes from Danville, KY.
