Josh McGuire Runner-Up at Southern Ohio Speedway; Doubleheader Ahead

(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) Josh McGuire Racing competed in a pair of Dirt Late Model events in the states of Kentucky and Ohio from April 18-20. On Thursday night, Ray Cook's Spring Nationals tour sanctioned a $4,000 to win program at 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky. Josh McGuire posted the third quickest lap in Group B during the qualifying session, which locked him into the outside of the third row for the start of the 40-lap main event. Unfortunately, Josh's #41 entry was hampered by a wrong tire selection and the Grayson, Kentucky native dropped back to a thirteenth place performance.

Things heated back up for the #41 team on Saturday evening at Southern Ohio Speedway in Wheelersburg, Ohio. Josh laid down the third fastest lap during time trials and later took the win in the dash, which earned him the pole position for the $1,500 to win weekly show. The driver known as "Bad Fast" then paced the field for the first twenty-four circuits before R.J. Conley muscled his way past on the final trip to steal the win. Josh wound up second in the finishing order at the completion of the 25-lapper. Full results from both 201 and Southern Ohio can be accessed by logging onto www.southernnationalsseries.com and www.southernohiospeedway.com.

Two more shows grace the tentative schedule for the JMR team this upcoming weekend. A return trip to both Southern Ohio Speedway in Wheelersburg, Ohio (Friday) and 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky (Saturday) are scheduled for April 26-27. A $1,500 top prize has been established for the winner of both regular weekly shows. You can view Josh’s upcoming racing plans by accessing www.joshmcguireracing.com.
