Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series Announces Points Fund, Contingency Programs

Glasgow, KY-May 4, 2013- Officials with the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series would like to announce the series points fund and contingency programs for the 2013 racing season and the criteria that qualifies racers to be a part of these programs with the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series.

The criteria to be eligible for points fund money with the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series for the 2013 racing season is as follows: 1) a driver must be a member of good standing in the AMS Series to be eligible to receive point money. 2) a driver must attend at least 85% of races. These races consist of actual ran events, and do not count cancellations or rain-outs because those are not eligible. 3) the overall points will be a total of all accumulated points and a driver will be able to throw out their worst points race or a missed event out, except for the October 26, 2013 season championship event at Florence Speedway in Union, KY where all drivers eligible for point fund awards, prizes and money must attend. 4) the 2013 award’s banquets will be held in conjunction with the UMP DirtCar series banquet and any driver not attending the UMP banquet will forfeit their awards, prizes, and money.

The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series 2013 point fund payout will be as follows: 1st- $3,000, 2nd- $2,000, 3rd- $1,500, 4th- $1,250, 5th- $1,000, 6th- $900, 7th- $800, 8th- $700, 9th- $600, 10th- $500.

The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series will have the following contingency program in place for the 2013 racing season:
Fast Qualifier Award: QuickCar Racing Products: $100.00 Cash
Heat (1) Summit Racing Equipment: $50.00 Certificate
Heat (2) Williams Precision Engines: $100.00 Certificate
Heat (3) Hypercoil Springs: Certificate for one Spring
Heat (4) Franklin Racing Equipment: $75.00 Certificate
B Main (1) Wehrs Machine: $50.00 Certificate (The first finisher not transferring to the A Main)
B Main (2) Wehrs Machine: $50.00 Certificate (If one B Main the second finisher not making the feature will receive the certificate)
Feature Awards:
Hard Charger Award: Allstar Performance: $100.00 Certificate (which will be mailed to the winner by Allstar Performance)
Crane Ignition System: 1st Feature finisher using a Crane Ignition box: $200.00 Certificate (One Certificate per car)
Crane Ignition System: 1st Feature finisher using a Crane: Distributor $100.00 Certificate (One Certificate per car)

For a driver to eligible to participate in or receive awards from the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series, the driver must have that contingency sponsor product decal displayed visibly on both sides of the race car.

The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series returns to action with its second event of the 2013 racing season on Saturday May 18 when the tour visits Cedar Ridge Speedway in Morgantown, KY for an event that will pay $1,500 to win and $200 to start.

The American Modified Series will present UMP DirtCar Modified sanctioned dirt track sports entertainment at racing venues throughout Kentucky, Illinois, Ohio, and Tennessee.
