American Cancer Society Night $2,500 to win Super Late Models at Lake Cumberland Speedway May 11
Burnside, KY-May 4, 2013- After losing three straight events to inclement weather, Lake Cumberland Speedway track promoter Brandon Hardgrove will try again with the first special event of Saturday night dirt track excitement at the 3/8 mile clay oval track known as “The House of Hardcore Mayhem” on Saturday May 11 with a $2,500 to win special for Super Late Models on American Cancer Society Night, with all proceeds going to benefit the American Cancer Society.
Lake Cumberland Speedway will present American Cancer Society Night on Saturday May 11 with Super Late Models racing for $2,500 to win the main event. All other divisions will also be in action as well as Modifieds will race for $600 to win in a 20 lap feature, Super Dirt Stocks will race for $300 to win in a 15 lap feature, Road Hogs will race for $250 to win in a 15 lap feature, and Front Wheel Drives will race for $150 to win in a 10 lap feature. There will be an eight (8) car minimum in the Super Dirt Stock, Road Hog, and Front Wheel Drive divisions. Track points for the 2013 season will also begin with this event on Saturday May 11. All proceeds from this event go to benefit the American Cancer Society.
Activities for the Saturday May 11 event will see the pit area and general admission areas at 4:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m., while practice laps will begin at 7:00 p.m. Time trials will take place beginning at 7:00 p.m., with racing taking the green flag at 8:00 p.m. All times are EDT. Ticket prices for the Saturday May 11 event in the general admission area will be $17 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12, while children ages 5 and under are admitted free. A pit pass will be $35.
Lake Cumberland Speedway last raced on April 13 and feature event winners that evening included Victor Lee of Danville, KY in Super Late Models, Tommy Gregory of Monticello, KY in Modifieds, and Jeremy Howard of Berea, KY in Super Dirt Stocks/Road Hogs.
Lake Cumberland Speedway is located at 1 Racetrack Road, just outside of Burnside, KY, just past the entrance to General Burnside Island State Park. Brandon Hardgrove is the track promoter and presents dirt track racing entertainment on Saturday evenings. The track is located on Racetrack Road off of US Hwy. 127 South, only about five miles south of Somerset, KY.
