Ponderosa Speedway’s 3rd Annual Weekend Warrior 30 for Sportsman, Plus All Other Divisions, Set for May 31

Junction City, KY-May 25, 2013- Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Larry Yantz and track co-promoters Chad and Sarah Yantz are set to conclude the month of May with the 3rd Annual Weekend Warrior 30, paying $800 to win for D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman on Friday evening May 31, along with a full program of racing competition in all other divisions at the 3/8 mile D-Shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring”.

The Weekend Warrior 30 was originally scheduled for May 17, but Mother Nature intervened that evening, forcing the program to be postponed prior to the drivers meeting getting underway. Anyone who had purchased general admission tickets or pit passes for the rained out May 17 event can use them on May 31 or anytime during the 2013 race season. However, you must have your general admission ticket or pit pass armband with you to be eligible for redemption, no exceptions.

The Friday May 31 racing event at Ponderosa Speedway will be the 3rd Annual Weekend Warrior 30, paying the D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman $800 to win in a 30 lap main event. Also in action at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday May 31 will be the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models in a $1,200 to win, 25 lap main event, along with the Smith Automotive FASTRAK Late Models racing for $600 to win contest. Also on the racing program for Friday May 31 will be the Bluegrass Drug Store Modifieds racing for $600 to win in a 20 lap feature contest and Airport Road Salvage Yard Four Cylinders racing for $200 to win (four car minimum) in a 10 lap feature event. RACEceivers are mandatory in all divisions and may be rented at the track during driver registration and pill draw, which closes at 7:00 p.m.

Activities for the Friday May 31 event will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m, while the general admission area opens at 5:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will be at 7:00 p.m., while practice laps will begin at 7:20 p.m. Bob Allen Motor Mall time trials will begin at 7:45 p.m., with racing set for the green flag at 8:30 p.m. All times listed are EDT. Ticket prices for the May 31 Weekend Warrior event in the general admission area will be $12 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12, with children ages 5 and under free. A pit pass will be $30.
