Shock Help for FR1 Leaf Mod
Wanting to know of a good shock package to use on an IMCA Northern Sportmod with chrysler stacked leafs in the back I run on a 1/3 mile semi banked dirt track. Right no I am running Bilstein SZ series Lf 40/40 Rf 50/30 and the rear is 30/30 straight across just looking for some suggestions car seems to work well when the track if heavy or muddy but when it slicks off the car has no forward or side bite.
-
No forward or sidebite isn't shocks , it is something else. Need info , springs , ride height , pinion angle , left% , rear% , etc.
-
Front spring rates are lf750 rf 850 lr195 rr175 ride height in the front is lf 6.5 rf 7 rear ride height is 7.5 on left and 8.5 on right side. Left side percent is 52.6% rear percent is 56.7% and the cross weight is 52% I have done a little research and am thinking the rear springs are to stiff not allowing the car to roll over onto the rr.
-
Just a little bit more info , car weight , tire size , 52.6% left w / or w/o driver , air pressure , weight location ? Thanks

Car weighs 2320 without driver and is scaled without, we are running on g60 hoosiers with 1.5 stagger in both front and rear air pressures are lf 9 lr 8 rf 14 rr 13 all of the ballast is mounted in the rear atleast 8 inches above the rear frame and the fuel cell is also mounted higher in the chassis with the bottom of it setting on the top of the rear frame rails. Car weighs 2520 when its on the track.

LR afco 231mhd 152lbs. , no lowering block , RR afco 231 142 lbs. , 1" adjustable lowering block , start with wheebase equal . Air LF 10 , RF 13 , LR 8 , RR 10 . Ride height 6 1/2 across front , 7 1/2 across rear , with driver , if any corner has to be higher make it the LR if possible , 150 lbs. bite for feature ,80 for heat if you can ( 2lbs + LF air , 1 lb more RR air ) . shouldn't need 56 % rear , 54 or 55 w/driver . String left side ,tires should be even , or LR just outside LF , right side prefer RF 3 or 4 " outside RR . Now for what you originally asked shocks LF 5 , RF 5 or 5C-3R , LR 4 or 5C-3R , RR 3 or 4

I agree ,after researching this particular car, that my advice may not be the best , it will work but there may be stuff that works better. I was just giving what I know works with leaf cars.
