Cleveland, TN (5/30/2013) --- The points system is alive and well, three weeks into the season at Cleveland Speedway as racers compete for their divisions on a weekly basis thru the end of October. This Saturday night, June 1st is the first Double Points event for Steel-head LLM for their Mid-Season Championship and if anybody is gonna throw a lasso around the A-1 Towing driver Rick Hixson, they’d better start now. Former Ice Bowl Champion Bobby Mayse has tried repeatedly only to come up short three-times by one position at the checkered flag. Saturday’s $1,500 prize should bring some stout competition to the speedway, but you can bet Hixson will be ready for all comers.

The Cross Boys’ are back and a-top the FWD standings. For how long is the question. Lagging car counts and the Bailey Clan are right there week in and week out. Somehow Joe Cross held off “Cookie Monster” Daniel Burnette, but he’ll be looking for the cookie in the shape of a checkered flag once again come Saturday in the evenings finale. Michael Courtney has taken over the Pony’s. Expect to see a plethora of drivers in and out of the track in the coming months, all preparing for the Kajun Mini Stocks invasion in September for the $1,027 to-Win Stacy McAlister Memorial.

Despite a horrific crash this past Saturday night, Johnny Hughes is one point shy of the B-Hobby leadership. It’s unclear if the #15 was salvageable or what will come of the Hughes Bros. Corey Sanders is the high-point man this week, but Dallas Brooks and Jimmy Smith are both lurking in the wings. Robbie Greene leads the “Dudes with Attitudes” of the A-Hobby. Reigning Division Champion Eric Hughes, the Blue Ridge Bandit Devin Stuart and Robby Hixson are all on his trail looking for their 1st W’s of 2013. And finally Jimmy Elliott (The Purple Punk) is a-top the Crate LM’s. For full list of all points visit ClevelandSpeedway.com.
