Eric Cooley Notches Pair of Wins Over Memorial Day Weekend

Fulton, MS (05/30/13) – Eric Cooley piloted his #33Bryson Motorsports Late Model entries to a pair of feature wins over the weekend in his home state of Mississippi to push his 2013 win tally to four.

Eric Cooley was once again pulling double duty at Columbus Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) on Saturday night in the Super Late Model and Crate Late Model divisions. In the Super Late Model division the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) Super Late Model tour, sanctioned a $2,500-to-win event, which drew a field of twenty entries to the 1/3 mile oval. Twenty entries were on hand for the program, and Eric finished second in his qualifier to lock into the twelfth starting spot for the 50 lap finale. In the feature he advanced eight spots to finish fourth behind race winner, Clay Fisher, Chris Wall, and Chad Thrash.

In the Limited Late Model division Cooley charged to the feature win over a thirteen car field with Mark Stokes, Eric Carr, Hunter Carroll, and Neil Baggett rounded out the top five. Full results from both divisions are available at www.ColumbusSpeedway.net .

On Sunday night Eric Cooley and Bryson Motorsports was once again busy as he piloted his entries in two divisions as he made the short trip to Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) for a NeSmith Late Model Series event and a Super Late Model program.

In the NeSmith Late Model division a strong field of 49 competitors registered for battle at the slick, 3/8 mile oval. Cooley started his night by qualifying tenth fastest before winning his heat race to lock into the tenth starting spot for the $2,000-to-win, 40 lap finale. During the course of the finale he advanced to a ninth place finish.

The Super Late Model division found a strong field of twenty-seven entries in the pits, and Eric raced to the win in his #33b Bryson Motorsports/Barry Wright/Jeff Burns Racing Engine Super Late Model over Rick Rickman, Mike Boland, Clay Fisher, and Brett White.
