Brady Smith Continues Outstanding Month of May at Wheatland and Granite City!

(SOLON SPRINGS, WISCONSIN) Brady Smith capped off his impressive month of May over the Memorial Day holiday weekend with top five efforts in both the 'Show-Me 100' and 'Budweiser 50.' On May 23-25, the 21st Annual 'Show-Me 100' was held at the pristine Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. Brady started his weekend by passing nine cars in the $5,000 to win Lucas Oil MLRA Series event on Thursday on his way to a respectable eleventh place effort in the 40-lapper.

Things then heated up at Wheatland on Friday evening with preliminary competition for the annual running of the 'Show-Me 100.' Brady timed in thirty-first fastest in Group A during Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying and later finished seventh in his loaded heat race. The Solon Springs, Wisconsin ace then got up on the wheel on Saturday during his B-Main to earn the second and final transfer spot into the $30,000 to win main event. In front of a huge crowd and television cameras, Brady was then able to maneuver his #2 Team Zero entry past seventeen competitors on his way to a sterling fourth place performance in the 100-lapper. He crossed underneath the checkers behind only winner Jimmy Owens, Chris Simpson, and Dennis Erb, Jr.

The Brady Smith Racing team then wrapped up their extended weekend on Sunday, May 26 at the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois. The UMP DIRTcar Series presided over the annual 'Budweiser 50' and a $10,000 top prize was on the line at the St. Louis area venue. Brady timed in fourth quickest in his group during the qualifying session and later placed second in his heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the fourth in the 50-lap main event, the driver known as the "Prodigy" drove past six cars en route to a stellar runner-up finish behind only race winner Shannon Babb.
