Jimmy Mars in Action During Show-Me 100 Weekend; Eldora Biggie Next

(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) The Mars Racing team once again spent their Memorial Day holiday weekend at the pristine Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri, as the 21st Annual 'Show-Me 100' was held from May 23-25. Things kicked off at the 3/8-mile facility on Thursday night with a $5,000 to win Lucas Oil MLRA Series battle. Jimmy Mars was unfortunately not able to transfer into the 40-lap main event after finishing seventh in both his heat race and his B-Main.

Action really heated up at Wheatland on Friday evening with preliminary action for the $30,000 to win 'Show-Me 100.' Jimmy laid down the thirteenth quickest lap in Group A during Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series time trials and later placed fifth in his stacked heat race. After winning his B-Main on Saturday, Jimmy started the 100-lap crown jewel event from the inside of the tenth row. The Menomonie, Wisconsin ace unfortunately retired from the 'Show-Me 100' around the halfway mark in the race and was credited with a twenty-fourth place performance. Jimmy and his #28 team now plan to take the upcoming May 31-June 1 weekend off from Dirt Late Model competition to prepare for the 19th Annual ‘Dirt Late Model Dream’ by Ferris Commercial Mowers. The hallowed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio will once again play host to the sport’s richest first place prize on Saturday, June 8, as a $100,000 paycheck will be in the balance. However, in a new twist, Twin 25 lap feature events will be held on both Thursday ($2,500 to win each) and Friday ($5,000 to win each) leading up to Saturday’s normal format. The three-day crown jewel extravaganza on June 6-8 now boasts a potential 31 races and 567 laps, with a posted payoff of $304,575.00.
