MaryLee Standridge Memorial This SUNDAY June 2nd at Jacksonville SpeedwayWith a predicted dismal forecast for the remainder of this week, Jacksonville Speedway track officials have elected to move the MaryLee Standridge Memorial to this SUNDAY June 2nd. With dry conditions forecasted for Sunday it will allow track stafff to get an early start on making the pit area accessible in plenty of time to race Sunday.MOWA 410 Winged Sprints, Big 10 Super Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stocks and Hornets are on tap for this big event. Hot laps at 4:00 with racing at 5:00 in an effort to get fans back on the road home in plenty of time for work Monday morning. $2.25 cans of Coors Light in the bar area. A kids quarter dash with $500 of quarters at intermission along with many other fun activities for the fans.Steve Trout, a track official, will hand out 3 free passes to Sunday's show at 3:30 to whoever he thinks is having the best tailgate/pre-party in our parking lot in front of the grandstands. So bring the coolers, grills and bags early and warm up for the evening's action.AJ Bruns is off to a strong start and leading the Midwest Open Wheel Series points, but lurking behind AJ are young gun Paul Nienhiser, two-time defending series champion Jarred Hull and Jimmy Hurley. New Berlin’s Steve Sheppard, Jr has swept all three of the Big 10 series Late Model events held at Lincoln and Macon Speedways and will be trying to make it four-for –for this Sunday. Stiff competition is expected, including from his son, World of Outlaws driver Brandon Sheppard.Jacksonville’s “Double Down” season bonus will be in effect Sunday for the Modified, Street Stock and Hornet classes. The bonus pays any driver that win’s two feature events at the track in a row a double payout for the second win. Ashalnd’s Travis Wallbaum will be racing for $500 to win in the Street Stock feature as he tries to go two-for-two at Jacksonville this season.
