Lake Cumberland Speedway Rained Out June 1; Super Late Models $1,200 to win Saturday June 8

Burnside, KY-June 2, 2013- Lake Cumberland Speedway track promoter Brandon Hardgrove and staff will present a full racing program for all divisions at the 3/8 mile clay oval track known as “The House of Hardcore Mayhem” on Saturday evening June 8 that will feature Super Late Models racing for $1,200 to win.

Just after Super Late Model time trials got underway, heavy rains began to fall over the track area and forced the cancellation of the remainder of the evening’s events. However, the event will now be contested this Saturday June 8. All race fans and race teams need to keep their tickets and pit passes and have them in hand on Saturday June 8. Individuals must have their ticket or pit passes to trade for a new one or they will have to pay for another ticket or pit pass into either area.

The Saturday June 8 racing program will feature Super Late Models in competition in a 25 lap feature event, that will pay $1,200 to the winner. All other divisions will also be in action on Saturday June 8 as Modifieds will race for $600 to win in a 20 lap feature, Super Dirt Stocks will race for $300 to win in a 15 lap feature, Road Hogs will race for $250 to win in a 15 lap feature, and Four Cylinders will race for $150 to win in a 10 lap feature. There will be an eight (8) car minimum in the Super Dirt Stock, Road Hog, and Four Cylinder divisions.

Activities for the Saturday June 8 racing event will see the pit area and general admission areas at 4:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m., while practice laps will begin at 7:00 p.m. Time trials will take place beginning at 7:30 p.m., with racing taking the green flag at 8:00 p.m. All times are EDT. Ticket prices for the Saturday June 8 event in the general admission area will be $12 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12, while children ages 5 and under are admitted free. A pit pass will be $30.

Lake Cumberland Speedway last raced on May 25 and feature event winners that evening included DIllan White of Lafayette, KY in Super Late Models, Tommy Gregory of Monticello, KY in Modifieds, and Sara Patrck of Albany, KY in Super Dirt Stocks/Road Hogs.

Lake Cumberland Speedway is located at 1 Racetrack Road, just outside of Burnside, KY, just past the entrance to General Burnside Island State Park. Brandon Hardgrove is the track promoter and presents dirt track racing entertainment on Saturday evenings. The track is located on Racetrack Road off of US Hwy. 127 South, only about five miles south of Somerset, KY.
